Welcome to the website of the SLOUGHI (Arabian Greyhound) kennel – ORIGEN CHARM, an FCI-registered kennel devoted to the preservation, responsible breeding and promotion of the noble Arabian Greyhound.
Our breeding programme is built on deep respect for the authentic heritage of the Sloughi. We focus on maintaining and expanding the genetic diversity of the breed, which we consider essential for its long-term health, functionality and future. For this reason, we place strong emphasis on carefully selected imports of individuals directly from the countries of origin in North Africa — particularly from the Maghreb region, including Morocco, Algeria, Libya and Tunisia.
The Sloughi is one of the oldest and most respected sighthound breeds in the world. For centuries, it has been treasured by the nomadic peoples of North Africa for its speed, endurance, intelligence and loyalty. Preserving these unique qualities remains one of the primary goals of our breeding programme. We strive to produce Sloughis that not only conform to the breed standard but also retain the natural athletic ability, sound temperament and functional structure that have defined the breed for generations.
We are passionate about presenting our dogs at international dog shows, where they regularly achieve excellent critiques, championship titles and prestigious placements under respected judges from around the world. While these achievements are a source of pride, exhibition success represents only one aspect of our work. Equal importance is given to maintaining natural condition, correct movement, endurance, physical soundness and the balanced temperament typical for this ancient desert sighthound.
At ORIGEN CHARM SLOUGHIS kennel, our dogs are valued first and foremost as living representatives of a unique cultural and genetic heritage. Every breeding decision is carefully considered with attention to health, pedigree analysis, genetic diversity and the long-term welfare of the breed. We believe that responsible breeding requires continuous education, international cooperation and a commitment to preserving the authentic characteristics of the Sloughi.
An integral part of our approach is thorough genetic testing of breeding individuals and active participation in research projects focused on the health and genetic variability of the breed. Within this effort, we also pay attention to the evaluation of DLA haplotypes, which provide important insights into the immune diversity of the population. These findings are taken into consideration when planning matings, with the aim of supporting a genetically balanced and responsible breeding strategy.
Our kennel is also dedicated to promoting a deeper understanding of the Sloughi among dog enthusiasts, breeders and prospective owners.
